THERE are now only a few days until the Scout movement celebrates the dawn of a new century of Scouting.
Scouts across the world will on August 1 be taking part in ceremonies to renew their Scout promise.
In Eastleigh there will be a sunrise celebration at 7.45am at the Leigh Road bandstand and there is an open invitation to those who have been involved or are currently involved with Scouting in Eastleigh.
Eastleigh District Commissioner Margaret Pink said: "The first of August is a special time for all of us within the Scout movement. At 8am all around the world, over 28 million people will be renewing their Scout promise to make a fresh beginning for worldwide Scouting. In Eastleigh, we want to share that with as many people as possible."
If you have ever been involved in Scouting in Eastleigh and would like to help celebrate on this special day, then get in touch with Margaret.
She can be contacted at patrick@foak.freeserve.co.uk or on 023 8069 2684.
Scouts, including many from Hampshire, will be converging on Brownsea Island for the national celebrations which run until August 6.
