HAMPSHIRE civic chiefs have agreed the blueprint for dozens of new children's centres across the county.
The 38 proposed centres are part of phase two of a county council programme which will eventually see 53 centres in addition to the seven provided under phase one.
Forty-four of the 53 will require building work in a multi-million pound programme.
The centres are 'one-stop shops' for a range of services aimed at supporting children and families.
Councillor Ken Thornber, right, leader of Hampshire County Council, said: "The children's centres will not be the same across the county with the range of services provided depending on local need and parental choice.
"But the underlying principle is that the greatest resource will go to those identified as being most in need. The blueprint that has now been agreed sets out the typical accommodation that could be provided in the different sizes of children's centres," he said.
