A SOUTHAMPTON school is closed due a bomb threat.
Police are at Upper Shirley High School after a member of staff discovered a note with a threatening message.
Head teacher Stuart Woods said one officer is still on site.
He told the Daily Echo: “At the moment it’s in the hands of the police. They still haven’t handed the school back to us.
"It’s likely that we will be open again tomorrow.”
A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "A decision was made by the school to shut the premises until further notice.
"Officers are on the scene and enquiries are on-going."
A message posted on the website for Upper Shirley High School says: "We are closed today due to unforeseen circumstances.
"We will update you with more information when we can."
The Daily Echo was unable to contact representatives from the school.
