FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at Fawley Power Station today.
Crews from Hardley, Hythe, Beaulieu and Lyndhurst were sent to the scene following reports of a fire involving oxy-acetylene welding sets.
A 200-metre exclusion zone was set up as firefighters tackled the incident, which turned out to be minor, according to power station bosses.
Some crews were withdrawn soon after they arrived but firefighters from Hardley stayed behind to cool the cylinders involved. No-one was hurt.
