A HAMPSHIRE animal charity is celebrating after dozens of unwanted cats were rehomed.
The Stubbington Ark made an appeal through The Daily Echo after more than 100 cats were dumped in their centre.
Although the charity says it always sees an increase in the number of strays during the summer months, the recent influx had left them full to capacity.
But since publishing their appeal last week, scores of animal lovers have descended on the centre and have helped ease the pressure.
A spokeswoman for the Stubbington Ark said they were delighted with the public's response, and hoped many of their felines would be in new homes by next week.
