GUNS N' Roses had reached the height of their fame before Ryan Bruton was born.
But their music lives on in the talented teenager from Bishopstoke who is the latest contender in the Daily Echo's Hampshire Top Talent competition.
The guitarist started playing at the age of seven and has been self taught since he was ten.
Eventually he would like to make his move into the music industry either as a guitarist or helping behind the scenes.
Ryan, 13, has always been a fan of rock, guitarists, from Guns N' Roses axeman Slash to the largely unknown Mattias IA Eklundh of Freak Kitchen.
The Kings School, Winchester, pupil has also won a music competition for the past two years for solo performances.
Outside school he likes to play in his band, Hysteria Lane. He discovered his talent while exploring his parents' room as a child. He said: "When I was young, my dad had two guitars and I just started messing about with them."
Ryan has been having lessons from guitarist Gerry Hearn, who usually only accepts musicians over the age of 16.
He said: "He's come on leaps and bounds, there's no doubt about it, the boy's got talent."
