A HAMPSHIRE motorcyclist who died in a smash with an ambulance has been named.
Graham Thornley, 21, of Andover, died after sustaining serious injuries when his blue Suzuki bike was in collision with a Mercedes ambulance.
His 18-year-old passenger suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester for treatment.
The ambulance driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke for treatment.
The ambulance was carrying two passengers, a 79-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, at the time of the incident. Neither was injured as a result of the collision.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash, which happened at the junction of Saxon Way and Kiel Drive in Andover, and are appealing to anyone who saw the collision itself or either of the vehicles prior to it to get in touch.
