THERE'S no pecking order in this rather unusual looking family.
As far as broody hen Henrietta is concerned, she is the proud mother of two beautiful babies - one just happens to be a duck and the other a turkey.
Henrietta is clucking with joy after becoming a mum to an Indian runner duckling and a bronze poult 12 days ago.
Staff at Manor Farm Country Park, near Bursledon, had given her a handful of duck and turkey eggs to sit on in the hope that the eggs would hatch.
It was the first time staff had tried mixing the eggs with a hen and hopes for success were small but Mother Nature prevailed and out popped the babies.
Although clearly different in size and appearance, the three bonded instantly and the youngsters can be spotted following their mum wherever she goes and imitating her every move.
Yesterday was the first day she was able to proudly show off her offspring as the unusual foster family went on their first tour of the farmyard.
Debbie Underwood, the park's assistant farm ranger, said: "We knew we had the hen sitting on duck and turkey eggs but to see this rather odd foster family wandering around is fantastic.
"This is the first time we've done this successfully so it was a nice surprise to find them hatched and healthy.
"As far as Henrietta is concerned they are her babies and to them she is most definitely their mother and they will follow her wherever she goes.
"Eventually, like with all families, the babies will grow up and leave her but for now they are constantly talking and clucking to one another.
"It's a bizarre phenomenon and we are thrilled to see them getting on so well together."
