COUNCIL chiefs are being forced to spend more than £150,000 on emergency repairs to a Hampshire sports complex.
Members of the New Forest District Council were told that parts of the Applemore Health and Leisure Centre would have to close if the work was not carried out.
According to surveyors, the roof over the sports hall is in urgent needs of repair and if it is done now it will prevent unplanned closures in the future.
