A RETIRED civil servant was killed in a road crash in Hampshire last night.
Pedestrian Roy Norgrove, 81, died after he was involved in an accident with a Ford Focus estate car in Alresford at about 6pm The victim, who lived in the town, was rushed by ambulance to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester, but died less than an hour later.
The driver of the car, a 21-year-old man, from Swarraton, was interviewed by the police but later released.
The accident happened at the junction of Winchester Road and New Farm Road.
Witnesses are being asked to contact Sgt Wayne Voller of the roads policing unit at Cosham on 0845 045 4545 about the crash, codenamed Operation Tadfield.
