AN "APPALLING" man who subjected another to a racist attack has been jailed.
Simon Needs harassed Jose Pinto by using threatening, abusive or insulting words, a court heard.
The 41-year-old was also caught being drunk and disorderly in the same incident on December 3.
Needs also appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court for assaulting John Prior in Southampton and stealing a £7.15 bottle of sherry from Sainsburys last month.
Magistrates jailed Needs because of his "record of offending and appalling racial abuse of his victim".
Needs, of Portswood Road, Southampton was sentenced to 56 days imprisonment.
He was ordered to pay £100 compensation to each of his victims.
