A MAN who stabbed a chef as he arrived for work in Southampton is being hunted by police.
The 27-year-old had just turned up for work at Buffalo Bills restaurant, in Commercial Road, but as he opened the front door he saw two men walking off from the premises.
When he challenged them, one of the men became abusive and walked towards him before punching him twice in the face.
He then pulled what police describe as "some sort of sharp weapon" from his pocket and slashed and stabbed at the chef's arms with it.
The attacker ran off towards the rear of the premises, into Water Lane.
It is thought he would have then gone along either Cumberland Place or Commercial Road.
The attacker, pictured above in an e-fit, is described as white, in his late 20s, just under 6ft, of slim build, with short straight brown hair and hazel eyes with deep wrinkles around them. He had stubble and wore a navy blue long-sleeved top with writing across the front.
Anyone with information about the incident should call DC Kat Gimmett at Shirley CID on 0845 045 4545 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
