MILLIONS of viewers will see a Southampton girl band take part in one of the toughest auditions on television tonight.

Afrodisiac will be running the Simon Cowell gauntlet when The X Factor returns to TV screens tonight.

Sammi Hingston, Charmaine Collins and Laura Downton braved The X Factor judges earlier this summer and said they were looking forward to seeing the show on TV as the reality still had not sunk in.

Laura, 21, from Cadnam, said: "It was such a surreal experience, I don't think it's actually going to feel real until we see it on TV.

"You see these people on TV and in newspapers and magazines every day and then to suddenly be stood there talking to them is just crazy."

Sammi, 19, from Salisbury, added: "We don't want to give too much away at the moment but hopefully people will enjoy seeing us on the programme."

Charmaine, 18, a former Brockenhurst College student, said: "We're all big fans of the show so to actually be a part of it this year is just amazing."

X Factor is on ITV1 tonight at 7.40pm.
