A couple have spoken of their surprise at finding a lizard in a bag of mixed salad they bought at an Isle of Wight supermarket.
Graham and Julia Fowler, from East Cowes, bought the salad from a Sainsbury's store and were shocked to find the 2in lizard alive inside.
Mr Fowler said: ''It was quite a shock. It's not what you expect when you open a bag of salad.
''I'm a vegetarian - I did not want any meat. We've kept him and fed him on lettuce. He seems to like it and has had the rest of the bag."
Mr Fowler said they were going to give the lizard to friends who keep reptiles as pets.
