VISITORS to Southampton's Princess Anne Hospital have been warned to expect delays as ten weeks of work to revamp its car park begins today.
Hospital bosses say the "vital maintenance and refurbishment" work will create wider parking bays for pregnant women and disabled visitors.
Work will be carried out in phases to minimise disruption at the hospital site off Coxford Road.
Peter Holloway, transport services manager at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust, said: "While the work will undoubtedly cause some inconvenience and delay, contingency plans have been put in place to cover this period.
"We would urge patients, visitors and staff to bear with us throughout this period and if necessary to use the main car park just across the road at Southampton General Hospital."
Mr Holloway said emergency access would be maintained at all times.
