MILLIONS of TV viewers will tonight see how an Eastleigh cabbie was strangled and torched in a sadistic attack.
For months after the attack the maniac responsible has still not been caught.
BBC's Crimewatch programme has filmed a re-enactment of the horrifying moments when 52-year-old Derek Fletcher was throttled and set alight in Stoneham Lane.
By going nationwide detectives are hoping for a major breakthrough in the investigation, codenamed Operation Seymour.
Mr Fletcher, who lives in Sholing, had burn injuries to the lower left side of his body following the attack at about 3am on Monday, May 21.
He was treated for several weeks at the specialist burns unit at Salisbury District Hospital and is now recovering at home.
