Police fear a Hampshire neighbourhood terrorised by two serial burglars in recent years could be about to fall victim to a third. Residents in Upper Shirley, Southampton are being urged to be extra vigilant after two recent overnight break-ins in the area. Last year criminal Mark Harrison admitted responsibility for 35 burglaries in the area over three years - a spree that earned him the nickname of "Shirley Creeper". Just months after he was jailed for five years another string of near-identical break-ins was reported to police, leading to a manhunt for "Creeper 2". Officers are still investigating that series of more than 20 raids. However they are worried the latest two - in Luccombe Road and Wilton Road - could be the work of a third creeper. In the Luccombe Road break-in three laptops, a camcorder, digital camera, iPod and jewellery was stolen. Anyone who has any concerns about suspicious behaviour in the area should call the burglary team on 0845 045 4545.
