The crash happened at about 5am on Saturday and police said Mr Fogarty apparently lost control of the silver Saab he was driving. No other vehicles were involved.

Mr Fogarty's family issued a statement paying tribute to him. They said: "Patrick Joseph Fogarty was a very hard working man. He had four daughters and a ninth grandchild on the way.

"He was known and loved by a lot of people.

"He will be sadly missed and never forgotten by everyone that knew him.

"We would request that we are left along at this time of sorrow to grieve in private."
