MOTORISTS will face major delays on one of the main routes into Southampton today because of a gas leak.
Thousands of people heading into the city will face misery as the inside lane of the A35 Totton Causeway on the way into Southampton will be shut.
Tailbacks have been predicted by council chiefs who have advised motorists to leave extra time for their journey as delays were inevitable'.
The repair is due to start at 10am Wednesday morning and is expected to last until 6am on Thursday.
It is the latest bad news for Southampton motorists reeling from a summer of rush hour delays following two months of work along the Millbrook Road.
