BRITAIN'S latest foot and mouth crisis has claimed another victim in the form of an operatic performance in the New Forest.
The Garden Opera company's performance of La Bohème, scheduled to take place in the Walled Garden at Somerley Park on Saturday, September 1, has been scrapped.
The decision was made yesterday, just hours before Defra lifted its countrywide ban on the movement of live animals at midnight.
Lord Normanton's decision to cancel the performance was made after the announcement that the Romsey Show would go ahead on September 8, but minus cattle and sheep competitions in the show ring.
