A BUILDER was taken to hospital after falling from a historic Romsey building undergoing renovation.
The man, in his late forties, was working on the third floor of The White Horse Hotel, in Market Place, when he slipped from a ladder and fell into the roof space.
The 15th century building is undergoing a complete refurbishment which meant that paramedics could only gain access by scaffolding and ladders.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service's urban search and rescue team were called to the scene.
A crane was then used to lower the man to an ambulance. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he underwent treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
