WOMEN and girls are being warned to be extra vigilant when walking through woodland in Bursledon after a man was spotted acting suspiciously in the area.
Police say they have stepped up patrols around a wooded area near the cemetery in School Road following reports of a man acting suspiciously and in a lewd manner.
The first incident was reported to officers after a woman noticed the man while she was walking her dog at around 7pm.
Although the man has not approached anyone, police are advising women and girls to be vigilant.
