THE gold rings were well and truly stuck on her finger but Eastleigh firefighters soon came to the rescue of a teenage damsel in distress.
Blue Watch sprung into action when an unusual call came knocking on their door at the station in Steele Close at about 11pm on Thursday.
The 14-year-old girl had been driven to the station by her mum after two gold rings had become well and truly stuck on her middle finger.
But it did not take long for two firefighters, using specialist cutting gear, to slice through the gold bands.
They used a jeweller's saw which is slipped under the ring and acts like a tin opener.
It only took a matter of minutes. A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Her finger was still quite swollen but she was relieved to be free of the rings. We advised her to go home and put her finger in some iced water."
