FINAL figures have revealed that Councillor Peter Wall's Eastleigh Mayoral Charities Appeal has been one of the most successful in memory.
Cllr Wall, with the help of his wife Marian and their team of volunteers, raised £40,258 during his time as the borough's first citizen.
The cash was shared between the QEII Activities Centre, Asthma Allergy and Inflammation Research Centre at Southampton General Hospital and Eastleigh Young Carers Project.
