THE cash-strapped Titchfield Bonfire Boys' Society has had a welcome financial boost.
A fundraising glitzy summer ball is a sell-out, with the organisers having sold 200 tickets, raising £7,000 in the process.
This year's Titchfield Carnival was cancelled for the first time in the popular event's 126-year history, after the society's finances hit rock bottom.
It was due to costly new health and safety regulations and poor turnouts because of the unsettled weather.
The ball is at HMS Collingwood, off Newgate Lane, on September 7.
