THE jury in a rape trial at Southampton Crown Court was sent home for the weekend after failing to reach a verdict.
Jurors spent just over five hours yesterday deciding on whether or not to find Pierre Nijimere, 38, and Shesa Sano, 27, guilty of the rape charges.
The pair, of Coventry Road, Southampton, are both accused of raping a 23-year-old former student.
During the trial jurors were told the woman had been so drunk when she left a Southampton bar that she fell over outside.
She told the trial the next thing she remembered was waking up in a stranger's bed with her hands tied.
Nijimere told the court that the woman had consented to sex, and denied raping her.
He denies two counts of rape and Sano denies one charge of rape and one of false imprisonment.
