A YOUNGSTER from the Isle of Wight is celebrating after scooping a bronze medal in the World Transplant Games.
Ashley Campbell, 15, from Rogerstone near Newport, took third place in the badminton singles at the games, being held in Bangkok.
The youngster overcame a kidney transplant to take his place on the podium.
UK team manager Lynne Holt said: "Ashley and the rest of the team are truly inspiring.
"They have already won the race to live, but are now celebrating being alive to race."
