HE'S done it!

After 109 days of sailing disabled Hampshire yachtsman Geoff Holt has become the first disabled person to sail single-handed around Great Britain.

At 11.10am today the 41-year-old crossed the finish line inside Southampton Water completing a voyage which has taken him more than three months.

Geoff and his 15ft Challenger trimaran Freethinker were escorted up the Solent by more than 30 spectator boats who cheered him on as he completed his "personal Everest".

Minutes after crossing the line Geoff said: "I am absolutely over the moon. It means so much that so many people came out to see me and I can't wait to get back to the shore."

After finishing Geoff headed to the Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hamble to celebrate with friends and family.
