YOUTH and community groups have been given grants worth £8,000.

St Mary's Community Festival has received £1,000 to cover the cost of hiring a marquee and providing a dance workshop.
Aspiring footballers at Hamble Youth FC scored with a £300 grant for new kit and balls.
The Little Roos toddler group in Thornhill, the Ranelagh Residents Association and All Saints Church in Botley each received between £200 and £400. Other beneficiaries included Southampton Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Counselling Service, Point Young People's Theatre and the Power Assisted Wheelchair Sports Club.
