A school is celebrating being top of the class after receiving top marks from inspectors.

Stoke Park Junior School in Bishopstoke gained the highest grade in all areas thanks to the hard work and dedication of the head teacher and his staff team.

The school was marked outstanding by Ofsted inspectors who praised the school's strong teaching standards and wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities for the students.

These strengths resulted in the high achievements of the pupils who leave the school having attained standards above the national average.

The report said: "Stoke Park is an outstanding school and the overwhelming majority of parents agree. The strong leadership of the head teacher, with his continued focus on monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the school, including teaching and learning and the curriculum have resulted in both of these key areas being outstanding."

Particular praise went to the students themselves after inspectors witnessed how much they enjoyed their lessons and attended classes with a positive attitude towards their teachers and their work.
