DRIVERS in Hampshire were facing major delays this morning after a five-vehicle smash on the M27.
Police closed two lanes of the westbound motorway just before junction three for the M271 to recover the vehicles.
Three cars, a van and a tanker lorry were involved in the collision but no one was thought to be seriously injured. Police have said that the tanker is not badly damaged or leaking.
The crash happened just before 8.45am this morning as motorists were heading along the busy route which links the M3 motorway with Southampton.
Tailbacks were stretching as far as junction seven at Hedge End.
Police say congestion is expected until the vehicles can be recovered later this morning.
