A record breaking number of cruise ship passengers passed through Southampton during three days at the end of August and the beginning of September.
Between Friday, August 31 and Sunday, September 2 a total of 28,319 passengers embarked and disembarked from seven ships.
These included a call by Queen Elizabeth 2 on the Friday, the next day saw Oriana, Sea Princess and Oceana in the port while on the Sunday, Aurora, Arcadia and Grand Princess were alongside the docks.
All of the ships are operated by Carnival UK, the parent company of P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Cunard Line and Ocean Village.
