A TEENAGER has been rushed to hospital after being knocked down by a car in Eastleigh this morning.
The girl suffered "serious head and leg injuries" after she was in collision with a silver Volkswagen Golf on Chestnut Avenue, shortly before 8.30am.
Police closed the busy road for an hour near its junction with Southampton Road, as paramedics treated the youngster at the scene before taking her to the Royal County Hospital in Winchester.
The incident happened just a few hundred yards from Eastleigh College, Barton Peveril College, which are both on Chestnut Avenue, and also Alderman Quilley School of Engineering, on nearby Cherbourg Road.
