A construction company has been fined £14,000 after turning a Southampton stream orange with waste.
Southampton mgistrates also ordered Bovis Homes to pay £1,170 costs after being prosecuted by the Environment Agency for polluting the Moorgreen Stream.
The company admitted pumping filthy water into the stream from its construction site at the Dowds Farm development in November 2006.
The Moorgreen Stream flows into the River Hamble, which is a site of special scientific interest and a special conservation area.
