A MAN was fighting for his life after a collision with a car in a Hampshire town today.
The pedestrian suffered serious head injuries after the incident in Alton High Street shortly after noon.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.
Part of the High Street between Market Street and the White Horse was closed to allow for police investigation. It was expected to be closed for some time, said a police spokesman.
She said the police were struggling to identify the injured man as he had no identification on him.
