MAYFLOWER Theatre has reopened its doors this evening following a 16 week, multi-million pound refurbishment.
The UK's largest regional theatre ‘went dark’ for the £7.5 million investment project back in June and now it’s open for business!
The Daily Echo are among invited guests attending a gala evening of music and entertainment tonight - and taking the first look at the stunning work that has taken place.

As our pictures show, the iconic Southampton venue looks splendid, completely repainted with a new red and gold colour scheme.
All of the seats in the stall and circle have been removed and replaced with 1,659 brand-new, wider seats with improved sight lines.
The orchestra pit has been moved beneath the stage and accessibility has been improved, with better facilities for people with disabilities.
Guests trying out the new seats for the first time tonight will be treated to a gala concert commemorating Mayflower Theatre’s 90 years and celebrating the future with some of the next generation of stage performers.
There will be some established stars too. For now the line-up is under wraps!
