HRH The Princess Royal was guest of honour at the Southampton Boat Show today.
Princess Anne arrived at the boat show at 10am where she was greeted by disabled Hampshire hero Geoff Holt, before heading to the RYA stand to launch the Royal Southern Yacht Club Trust, the Hamble sailing club's new charity outfit.
Shortly after she met up with Southampton round-the-world sailor Mikle Golding to officially name his new raceboat Ecover.
At 11am she was met by members of Team Origin, the new British challenge for the 2009 America's Cup, which includes Hampshire sailors Ben Ainslie, Rob Greenhalgh and David Carr.
HRH The Princess Royal was then due to present the Queen's Award for Enterprise to navigation product manufacturer TacTick at midday before lunching with invited guests including Britain's 2008 Olympic hopefuls.
