HAMPSHIRE hotel workers are saddling up for a fundraising bike challenge in memory of a much-loved colleague. Staff from Premier Travel Inn are tackling a 20-mile course stopping at all of the company's Southampton properties.
They are dedicating the event to Richard Hobden, pictured, former general manager of the city centre branch who lost his fight against cancer last year. Organiser Richard Powell said staff also wanted to raise money for Hospitality Action, a charity which supports the families of hotel employees in times of need.
Mr Powell said: "Hospitality Action is very close to our hearts. Richard Hobden was an inspirational man and I am delighted that we are able to play a small part in helping to raise much-needed funds for the charity."
The event starts at Southampton West Premier Travel Inn, next to the Vine Inn in Ower on Tuesday September 25.
