WINCHESTER'S new Discovery Centre will open in November, Winchester policymakers heard.
City councillor Patricia Stallard confirmed to the Cabinet that the date for the official opening of the revamped library in Jewry Street is November 27.
The city council contributed about £1m to the £7m cost.
However, as the temporary lending library in Andover Road is to close at the end of September, the city will be without a major library for months.
