ONE of Hampshire's newest primary schools has been described as good with some outstanding features.
Cadland Primary opened its doors in September 2005 following the amalgamation of Holbury Infant and Holbury Junior.
Now two years on, inspectors for the Office for Standards in Education have praised staff and pupils for its improving standards.
They complemented the school's leadership and its links with the local community including Fawley Refinery and a local farm.
Inspectors said these links helped to lead to "innovative" units of work being included in the school curriculum. Head teacher David Mewes said: "I am delighted with the report and as a new school we have achieved a tremendous amount in a relatively short time."
