A DRIVER who was caught streaming films while at the wheel has been fined.
Joanne Katherine Lewis, of, Garrison Hill in Droxford, was spotted by police driving a Jaguar F-Pace while holding a phone with both hands.
Officers said they saw the 43 year old mum rest a mobile phone on the steering wheel while driving along Station Hill in Itchen Abbas.
But when they pulled her over she told them she was passing the phone to her daughter - who was watching Netflix.
Southampton Magistrates' Court heard that when Lewis was pulled over she said to police: "I literally picked it up and gave it to her. She was watching Netflix. I wasn't using my mobile phone, I just handed it to my daughter. She was on Netflix."
Lewis denied the charge - after the incident which took place in May this year - but later changed her plea to guilty.
She did not appear at the hearing on December 19, when she was handed an £800 fine - reduced to £600 for entering a guilty plea - and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £60.
Her licence was also endorsed with six points.
