HUNDREDS attended a traditional Chinese lantern parade through Southampton yesterday.
The parade was headed by an illuminated Chinese dragon, which danced through the streets.
This was followed by the lanterns and a Chinese lion dance in Guildhall Square.
All lanterns were lit by LED lights, and there was a workshop held to create the lanterns ahead of the parade.
Guests also got to enjoy a Tai Chi display and a traditional dragon dance before it set off.
Ping Hua, director for the Chinese Arts of Southampton, said: “We had nearly six-hundred people at the workshop.
“It’s given local people the chance to share and learn the Chinese culture, and we have all extremely enjoyed it.”
