A SOUTHAMPTON kebab shop has been shortlisted for three categories as part of a national award.
Uni Kebab in Burgess Road has been shortlisted for best regional kebab restaurant, best value restaurant and best customer satisfaction as part of the British Kebab Awards.
The business is run by Emma, 35 and Aziz, 40 Gezer who have owned the shop for more than two years and employ six members of staff.
Last year the business scooped the customer satisfaction prize.
Emma said: "We were really shocked to be shortlisted for these three categories.
"We have been overwhelmed by the support we have had from customers.
"Everything we make is homemade and we are always adding new things to the menu.
"There are a lot of kebab shops and restaurants in Southampton but I think we have a different atmosphere.
"My husband talks to every customer and remembers their name.
"It's a casual and friendly place and we have lots of families as well as students come in."
Emma added: "We would like to thank all our customers who have took a minute to vote & we would like to thank our local councillors & MP for their support .
"We hope we can win this award for Southampton again this year."
The winners of the British Kebab Awards, sponsored by Just Eatwill be announced after a final round of judging by the judges including Labour MP Jonathan Reynolds, Assistant General Secretary at Unite Steve Turner, Chief political correspondent Jim Pickard and Samson Sohail from Cobra Beer, as well as others.

Over 1,200 guests including more than 110 MPs and Lords are expected to attend the British Kebab Awards VIP-studded ceremony in the ballroom of the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel where they will be treated to a cocktail reception, three-course Anatolian-style meal.
