IT'S currently a Hampshire pub with no beer but the new owners would have plenty of cellar space to fill with their favourite tipple.
There has been a complete rejuvenation of the Taswell Arms in Southsea and it would now make someone a spectacular home.
The new owner will get the keys to the property and a coffee table book outlining how the project to turn the Taswell Arms into a family home has been completed.
- The Hampshire country house with a star-studded history for sale for £4 million
- The waterside £4.25 million New Forest property with pool and tennis court
- The £3m Forest home for sale for only the second time in 95 years
- The Hampshire retreat set in 15 acres and for sale for £2.15 million
“The pub was a typical corner watering hole in its heyday but there’s nothing typical about it now,” explains Colin Shairp, of Fine and Country Southern Hampshire. “The project has been accomplished with great quality and style and anyone attending the open day on March 30th can’t fail to be impressed.
“A vast open plan living space has been created out of much of the ground floor, with a family room just inside the front doors, progressing via a dining area to the sitting room at the rear with doors into the secure rear courtyard and the very attractive yet highly practical kitchen to one side. There is a separate study / music room opening off the family room.
“As a former pub, the building naturally offers some very useful cellar space while on the first floor there are four bedrooms and a family bathroom complemented by an en-suite shower in the master bedroom and a ground floor cloakroom. The stairs continue to a second floor fifth bedroom with a door at the far end into a loft storage area.
“The book tells the full story of how the project was undertaken - the Taswell Arms has been re-wired, re plumbed, re roofed, and has a new ‘A’ rated double glazed windows fitted throughout with etching to match the original pub’s designs. There is oak flooring throughout the ground floor and original stripped pine floor boards to the upper floors.
“A shingled garden wraps round the front and side of the building while automatic double gates allow access to a brick paved garden / courtyard. The property is an easy walk from the Victorian Seafront, schools, and sports facilities.”
The guide price for the property is £925,000.
