AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a Winchester man after crash in the city centre.
Winchester Coroner's Court heard 86-year-old Albert Williams, of Clifton Road died in North View on August 27.
In a preliminary report to the coroner, pathologist Dr Balvinder Shoker gave a preliminary cause of death of neck fracture following a road traffic collision, with contributing heart problems.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman confirmed they are investigating the crash, which they said took place just before 6pm.
The spokesman added: "The collision involved three vehicles, two of which were parked and unoccupied.
"A man, aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."
Senior coroner Grahame Short adjourned the inquest to January 13, 2020.
