POLICE have revealed the name of the man whose body discovered in the water at Riverside Park.
Sol Hemy, aged 20-years-old, from Sholing, Southampton was found in the water at Riverside Park shortly after 6.30am on Thursday 5 September.
His body was discovered after an incident in River Walk where gunshots were heard.
However, according to Hampshire Police, Sol did not suffer any gunshot wounds and detectives are currently treating his death as unexplained.
Sol’s family has since released pictures of Sol to pay tribute to him.
A family spokesperson said: “We would like to thank everyone for their support and kindness, however, due to the exceptional circumstances we find ourselves in, we ask for privacy and time to grieve.”
Sol’s family have also said they support the police investigation and urge anyone with information about what happened to him to contact the police.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for information regarding the events which took place on September 5.
