MOTORISTS face "severe" delays after a lorry fire closed the A34.
The northbound route has now been cleared between J9 of the M3 to the A303 at Upper Bullington.
However commuters can expect severe delays on all approaches.
A one hour delay northbound between Otterbourne and Winchester has been reported.
A section of the A34 northbound was closed at around 6.30am today while police dealt with an HGV which caught fire after losing a load of oil.
It was closed from the from J9 of the M3 to Bullington Cross (A303).
The northbound exit slip road was closed at J9 with traffic described as "solid northbound" from the M27.
Delays of around 30-minutes were initially reported heading back towards Sutton Scotney.
