A NEW co-working space targeted at the tech and creative sectors is to open in the heart of Southampton’s business district.
The Headspace Group is making the city the sixth location for its workspaces and the first on the south coast.
It will occupy 4,500sqft of space which is being refurbished in Southampton’s Grosvenor House.
The company says the membership of its co-working arrangements ranges from freelancers and start-ups to PLCs.
Headspace Group says the workspace will be equipped to a high specification, with a dedicated team on site responsible for curating social and business events for members, from panel discussions and workshops to yoga.
Fabrizio Nicola-Giordano, managing director of Headspace Group, said: “Southampton boasts a world class university, a vibrant community, great transport links and many exciting local businesses. We’re hugely excited to be launching in the area and we’re looking forward to supporting local businesses with a vibrant, inspiring and collaborative workspace.”
Andrew Issott, marketing director for the company, said the Southampton site would accommodate up to 70 people.
“This is spread over a range of options from great value touchdown monthly memberships to generous sized private office suites,” he said.
“All clients have full access to comfortable break-out spaces, first-class facilities and free community events.”
It is the latest of several coworking spaces to open in the city.
Mr Issott said: “There are many reasons to choose a co-working space but first and foremost are ease of use with flexible monthly all-inclusive pricing, enterprise level bandwidth and network security, and the ready-made community of liked-minded business people all located within their workspace. You can also benefit from design and fit-out that is usually only accessible to the budgets of big corporates.
“The flexible workspace market has grown hugely over the past few years and will continue to grow significantly.”
He added: “Headspace expends considerable effort to create inspirationally designed space that is highly productive for workers. We never forget that work is the primary reason for its use but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy a vibrant workplace that embraces wellbeing
.”
Headspace Group was acquired by flexible workspace provider BE Offices in 2017 and has announced its intention to expand the Headspace brand to as many as 20 spaces over the coming years.
