Hampshire’s "most popular" dog event – is about to take over an iconic Southampton pub.

Pop Up Pug Pub will be taking over London Road Brewhouse to host a "Pug Apocalypse", for pugs and their owners.

The event will take place on Sunday, during which pups and their owners will be able to enjoy "spooky" foods, competitions and a "fun and a special Pug-Cam" will stream the event live on Facebook.

Event organiser Dee Bushrod said: “Since launching the Pop Up Pug Pub, we have had done 6 other events through the county but Halloween always proves especially popular with pug-lovers. It’s the perfect excuse to get dressed up.”

The London Road Brewhouse is no stranger to welcoming dogs and as a dog-friendly venue has refreshments available for them all year round.

The Pug Apocalypse starts at 12.30pm with tickets are available through the Pop Up Pug Pubs website and cost £5 per person.

The pugs will get to experience treats, lots of costumes to try on for photos and a specially made, pug-sized spooky backdrop for Halloween photos.

Dee added: “ The pup-cam has proved really popular at the Pop Up Pug Pubs, seeing all the activity from the dogs perspective, with their ears flapping as they run around, is really funny and sweet.”

According to organisers, the event is a great chance to meet other pug owners from around Hampshire and enjoy a drink together.

Pug Lovers who don't own a dog are also welcomed at the event.
