HAMPSHIRE shoppers are being warned of food allergies with LIDL and Co-op supermarkets issuing urgent product recalls.

Anyone who shops in Lidl and Co-op should check their cupboards as some products contain ingredients not listed on labels.

Retailers are urging shoppers to take the recalls seriously and anyone who has bought an affected item will be able to get a full refund.

The full list of affected items is as follows:

Co-op Bakery Short Crust Mince Pies

Co-op has issued a warning for the product as it contains barley which is not mentioned on the label.

According to the Food Standards Agency website some of the labels may not mention barley.

It adds that the product may be a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to barley or gluten.

The packs which are affected are all the ones with best before date codes up to and including November 6, 2019 and in a pack of four.

Anyone who bought the product is urged not to eat the food to avoid a risk.

They can return it to the store it was bought where they will be given a full refund.

Lidl Baresa Green Pesto Alla Genovese

Lidl, has also issued allergy warnings.

On its website the Food Standards Agency website said that Lidl is recalling Baresa Green Pesto Alla Genovese 190g because it contains peanut which is not mentioned on the label.

The product is therefore a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

The error has occurred on the pack size 190 grams and with batch codes IIF103, IIF183 and IIF186.

The affected products also have the best before date of June 16, 2022.

Shoppers should check the product and return it to the store for a full refund.

No other Lidl GB or Co-op products are known to be affected.
